Monday

Apple Fitness + Strength with Kim (Upper Body, 30 Min) | 1.5 Mile Walk

What I Wore: Brooks Sneakers | Fabletics Shorts

Really happy to be starting off the week with a good workout! I burned about 120 calories with this upper body workout. Blake and I also fit in a 30 minute walk after dinner, which was so nice. It was late enough that it had cooled down a bit, and we saw a double rainbow! My Oura ring also recorded another 10 minutes of activity, which was housework.

Tuesday

Apple Fitness + Strength with Jenn (Lower Body, 20 Min), Core with Kyle (10 Minutes) | 1.5 Mile Walk

What I Wore: Walmart Shorts | Amazon Crop Top | Amazon Sports Bra | Brooks Sneakers

Another workout where I burned about 120 calories. This was a lower body workout - my least favorite but probably most needed. Blake and I did this one together! While he got ready for work, I popped out and walked Winston, brought him home, and then continued to bring the total walk time to 30 minutes.

Wednesday

Apple Fitness + Strength with Jenn (30 Mins, Upper Body), 1.5 Mile Walk
What I Wore: Brooks Sneakers | Amazon Shorts | Old Navy Top

My legs were SO sore from Tuesday's workout, so I knew today needed to be arms and upper body. We also went for a walk after dinner, even though it was pretty late. I was so happy to do that, but I think it made me go to bed much later than I would have normally.

Thursday

Apple Fitness + Core with Sam (30 Min)
What I Wore: Fabletics Shorts | Comfort Colors Cropped Tee | Brooks Sneakers
So, now my legs and my arms were killing me, so I had to go with core. I absolutely love the core workouts, they are so good! I find the variety is really nice. I also had a very big cleaning job Thursday, so I was SPENT by the evening. I like that my Oura ring gives me decent credit for cleaning. It's physical labor and my apple watch just doesn't pick that up.

Friday

2 Mile Run
I really should have started this run about 30 minutes earlier than I actually did. The sun was OUT! But, I'm proud to have got this run done. My playlist was not helping today, so I really need to figure out what will be more motivating to listen to.

And for a little Instagram V Reality....here's what I looked like at the end of the run. 🍅

Our Home Gym: Yoga Mats | Hand Weights | Liquid IV | Airpod Hooks

Monday

Apple Fitness + | 20 Minute Upper Body Strength & 10 Minute Core
Outfit: Walmart Shorts | Old Navy Top | Brooks Sneakers

It's feeling like a Monday! I slept in a little longer than intended, but still got my work out in. Blake was not able to get a work out in before having to head out to the office, so we agreed to walk later this evening. I'm going to need that too, since I'll be on my computer most of the day.

Walk | 25 Minutes 1.33 Miles
We did end up walking after work, and I am so glad we did! It had rained earlier in the day so not only was it a lot cooler, but everything was green. Walks are a great way for us to catch up with each other and decompress at the same time.

Tuesday

Apple Fitness + | 30 Minute Lower Body, 5 Minute Core, 5 Minute Cool Down
Outfit: Fabletics Shorts | Target Tank (similar) | Brooks Sneakers

Even though I got a pretty good sleep score last night, I wasn't jumping up out of bed this morning. It still felt rushed! After realizing we had nothing planned for dinner, and a last minute grocery pick up situation - I got my workout in. This was an awesome lower body work out and I felt that it was just the right amount of challenging.

Walk | 26 Minutes 1.34 Miles
Blake and I walked again after work, taking the same route as yesterday - just in reverse. I love walking together. In my perfect world we'd walk every day.

Wednesday

Apple Fitness + Ready To Run Series | 30 Minutes, 2 Miles
I woke up feeling so sore after my lower body workout yesterday, so I was not sure how this run was going to go. To changes things up, I decided to try one of the Apple Fitness + Ready to Run programs. Each run is 'set' in a different location. I chose Zion National Park since we visited there last fall. The coach guides you a little bit and the program pings pictures to your watch along the way. It's nice that the playlist is already curated and you basically just press play and go. I felt like I pushed myself, but I still had to walk several times.

My only wish is that I had gotten started earlier! The sun was ON. It's going to be a gorgeous day, but it's hot already.

Thursday

Apple Fitness + | 20 Minute Total Body, 10 Minute Upper Body, 10 Minute Core
Outfit: Old Navy Shorts and Tank | Brooks Sneakers
Oof, I was not feeling it today. Didn't sleep great, but still wanted to get it done. Blake chose the 20 minute total body class, so we did that together and then I added 2 more 10 minute classes.

Friday

Apple Fitness + | 30 Minute Kickboxing, 10 Minute Total Body
Outfit: Walmart Shorts (similar) | Old Navy Bra Top | Brooks Sneakers
Unfortunately, I got a little sunburned on my upper back this week - so my original plan of a core work out was not going to work today. I could not be laying on my back for a long period of time! Instead, I went for kickboxing and a short total body weight workout. SHOULD have reversed the order I did it in, because I was spent! Great calorie burn, and a good sweat to kick off the weekend.

Fun Times with Friends

We went out for drinks with our good friends to celebrate our anniversary! The destination was a rooftop bar that we had been wanting to visit. We had a great spot by a window and each got to try a fun drink. It's just so fun to have a good reason to get dressed up.

Destination Runs

I'm training for another half marathon, and have been trying to mix things up by running in places besides my neighborhood. I've really enjoyed running downtown and then as well in this gorgeous neighborhood with the best walking trial around a lake.

Aunt and Uncle Time

We recently had 2 of my nephews for the weekend and we had a great time taking them to do some fun things. We drove go-carts - which honestly I can't even remember the last time I've done that! Literally like 18 years ago, haha.

The race track was fun, and then we did batting cages. None of us were very good but it was an enjoyable activity nonetheless.

Ninja Creami

My sister gifted us a Ninja Creami! It has been on my wish list for ages. (We got it just after my post about small kitchen appliances went live.) It has been SO fun to use. There are so many recipes, and I know we will be experimenting with it for a long time. So far, our very favorite recipe is for a pineapple sorbet. It tastes just like a Disney World Dole Whip. Absolutely delicious. And the only ingredient to to it is a can of pineapple. Pictured below is a vegan vanilla ice cream with reeces cups. 😋

Life Lately #12

Sunday
Run - 2 Miles - 219 Calories
Let's talk running! I decided to start from scratch and do the C25K program from the very beginning. I figured it can't hurt to get back to basics and build up to running a full 5K. Then I'll build off that towards my Half Marathon next April. Today was Week 2, Day 2. Love the C25K app for this. It has the plan already built in and will ding when it's time to run and when it's time to walk.

And, this was my first run wearing my new shoes! I went with the Brooks Adrenaline 22s. I went to the store to try on the Ghost 15 (my usual preference!) but gave these a try and really loved how cushioned they felt. Plus, they were on sale and I had a little bit left over on a gift card!

Monday
Peloton 20 Min Strength Workout - Total Body - 118 Calories
At this point I think we use our Peloton membership mostly for strength classes! The bike rides are always great, but I really have developed a love for the weight classes and the barre classes. Today Blake and I worked out together! It was just a quick 20 minute class, but it was tough!

Tuesday
Walk - 2 Miles - 237 Calories
I actually meant to run today, but it just didn't happen. We were just too slow to get going this morning, and ran out of time. I decided I really wanted to go for a walk (and even though I wanted to, it was hard to make myself go anyway) and I'm so glad I did. It was a gorgeous day and it really got my mood turned around. Isn't it funny that I burned more calories walking than I did Sunday running the same distance? Of course it took me twice as long to do the same route, but it's just interesting.

Wednesday
Run - 2 Miles - 271 Calories
Today was Day 3 of Week 2 on C25K! It was a really good run and I'm feeling really good about doing this program. It was also a really brisk cool morning and that always has been my favorite season to run in. After getting back home I immediately got to work deep cleaning the house. So that's another workout in itself! Especially because I went to town on our couch and vacuumed it like there was no tomorrow.

Thursday
Run - 2 Miles - 233 Calories
This run was hard. Week 3 Day 1 of C25K meant a lot longer stretches of running and for some reason my shins were really tight. But I did it! And managed to dodge the raindrops before Tropical Storm Nicole blew through.

Friday
Rest Day!
We had SO much happening Friday. It was a day off from work, but we were having some friends stay with us, our house was getting pressure washed, and I had a last minute doctors appointment all right away in the morning! Hence, rest day. Although, it was probably good to take a break anyway.

Saturday
Run - 2 Miles - 299 Calories
Week 3, Day 2! It was really brisk this morning, so it was sort of invigorating - but hard! I'm noticing that I need to do some more stretching before and after my runs. The Peloton app has pre and post run stretches so I might try that next time.

Work Out With Me | This Week's Work Outs

Monday, November 14, 2022

Diary posts are just a fancy way for me to dump my camera roll into a blog post!

Buff City Soap

A new location of Buff City Soap opened up here, and I won one of their grand opening giveaways! I really encourage everyone to enter giveaways...I counted up how many I've won in recent history and it's at least 10. What do you have to lose, ya know?

Diary #11.2021

Friday, December 17, 2021

LOL at the fact that I'm still trying to call this a weekly diary, when the reality is this post will contain pictures from several weeks! When I started this series in January I fully intended to share a post like this every week. Maybe I'll change it to monthly? Anyway, here ya go!

Weekly Diary #10.2021

Monday, September 27, 2021

It's been awhile since I've done a weekly diary! So, this post contains pictures from more than one week. I'm sure you don't mind. It's been a strange couple of weeks since our move, but it's my goal going forward to be more proactive about documenting our week.

Weekly Diary #9.2021

Monday, August 23, 2021

Happy Monday everyone! Gosh, it's been a *week*. I'll be honest, I'm not on my game and feeling super off. My anxiety has been really bad, so I'm hoping to reset this week. A few good things though:

We got an exercise bike!

Like the rest of the world, while under lockdown, home work outs became really crucial. We really wanted to get an exercise bike, but we were divided on what to get. Plus, we knew we'd be moving and didn't want to get a giant bike we'd have trouble relocating.

Weekly Diary #8.2021

Monday, June 7, 2021

It's basically summer! As much as I love fall and winter fashion, give me all the sunshine! I feel like I come alive when the time changes and I get Vitamin D straight from the sky. We haven't been to the beach yet, but we have been able to go out boating and I've really been enjoying reading outside with the pugs. They love it too!

Weekly Diary #7.2021

Thursday, May 6, 2021

Happy Friday everyone! This is the face of a girl who was shipping out her 500th Etsy order! Such an exciting milestone to reach. My shop is currently on hiatus for a few weeks while I focus on some studying and subsequently avoiding burnout. Gotta know when to rest right?

Weekly Diary #6.2021

Friday, March 12, 2021

Another weekly diary for you! I've been feeling very busy recently, but it's still surprises me how different this kind of busy feels than it used to a year ago. A year ago we had our 10 year anniversary party! It was truly the last event we've been to. So strange!

Weekly Diary #5.2021

Monday, February 22, 2021

Does anyone else feel like January takes so long?! I'm not sure why, but it always seems like the longest month ever. February is one of my favorite months of the year, so maybe that's why it feels that way.

Here's what we've been up to!

Weekly Diary #4.2021

Monday, February 8, 2021

Happy Monday everyone! Things have been very much the new normal for us this past week. Blake has been working from home a lot again and I love having him around. We both had the day off last Monday for MLK day, so we decided to get out of the house and go for a little adventure.

Florida Caverns State Park

Mariana, FL

About 2 hours away from us is an amazing State Park. I went on multiple field trips here as a kid, but hadn't been in years. I knew Blake would love seeing the caverns.

Sharing a peak into my week:

Work, Work and More Work

I promise I'm not complaining that I have a job! But, I feel like all I ever do anymore is work! It's amazing how when I started working mostly from home the lines of business hours blurred. I find myself working on my laptop in the evenings, something I never would have done before WFH.

Weekly Diary #2.2021

Thursday, January 14, 2021

Blake and I ventured out to the mall to get new running shoes! I purchased a pair of Brooks last year before my half marathon and loved them so much that I got another pair this year. Blake recently started running with me, so we got him fitted for a pair as well. He did a whole foot analysis at Fit2Run and it was very helpful! Interestingly he ended up in the same pair I got (just in men's).
