My Favorite Posts of 2020

Monday, December 28, 2020

I have to say when I wrote my favorite posts of 2019 last January, I never expected 2020 to turn out like it did. Of course no one did, but I can't help but reflect. 2020 was full of surprises!

Even though so much has gone wrong this year, I have to say, a lot has gone right! When we were forced to stay home, all of our priorities shone through. It re-centered our focus and helped us find happiness in the little things. I have not hated the slower pace! Honestly, I hope our schedule mimics 2020s more than 2019.

Here are a couple of my favorite posts from this past year:

We started off strong with my very first Half Marathon! It's so hard to believe this actually happened. My sister and I trained for months and to this day it's one of my proudest accomplishments. There is nothing like training for something, seeing yourself improve and accomplishing your goal.

Blake and I celebrated 10 years in February! We had such a fun party with family and friends. Little did we know that'd be the last event we attended all year. Well we went out with a bang, because it was a blast.

For our anniversary we took a trip to Arizona, Utah and Nevada and were able to visit a ton of amazing places! At the top of the list is Zion National Park. It was stunning and we'd go back in a heart beat.

Had that trip been planned even just one week later, I don't think we would have gotten to go. Only a few people on our plane home were even wearing masks at that point. That was the beginning of March, so you know what happens next!

Then we stayed home. I wrote this Day in The Life post and I love reading it back. This is why blogging is so cool, it's a digital scrapbook-a moment in history.

I spent a lot of time this year cleaning and decluttering. We knew we wanted to sell our house early in the year so we started working towards that slowly. I wrote several posts about cleaning, but loved these two: A Clean With Me Kitchen Edition and How To Strip Your Laundry

In late August we put our house on the market. We got an offer the first day! It was a roller coaster and I never want to do it again!! But moving and selling our house quickly took over our lives. It was a huge process that included home repairs, a yard sale and a whole lot of waiting. But we finally closed and we are so happy to be starting our next chapter.

That's basically all that happened in our real life on the blog. The day we put our house on the market was the day we were supposed to be leaving for a long trip to Europe. I'm sad that didn't happen, and I'm sad I don't have a bunch of glorious travel photos to share next. But we will rebook as soon as possible.

I started 2 new blog series this year sharing my monthly Grove Orders and Thursday Threes, which are three random things from the week. I really enjoyed sharing these things and will probably keep them up next year. And as always I love sharing my Recent Reads! As I'm writing this I am on book number 38 of my goal of 40 books this year. Crunch time! You'll be seeing Recent Reads #11 shortly.

I always love looking at my Blog Stats! This year my most popular post is still the How To Clean Your Alex and Ani Bracelet post that went viral. But my next most popular was my Unsponsored Revive Essential Oil Review Post. I'm still in love with my oils and am just about to place another order.

Etsy took a lot of my focus from my blog this year, but I'm okay with that. It's far more profitable honestly! I am hoping to balance the two a little better in the year to come, but no guarantees - 2020 taught us that much!

Thank you all for sticking with me this year! I have immensely enjoyed sharing our life in this space and knowing I'm talking to actual people makes it really fun!
