Judges 8:1-3
"...And they quarreled bitterly with him. But he said to them: What have I done compared with you?...When he spoke this way, they calmed down."
At Judges 8:1-3 Gideon sets a really good example of diffusing a fight. When the men of Ephraim turned on him and complained, Gideon replied calmly and peacefully. This helped prevent a fight and maybe even prevented an intertribal war. We can try to react similarly if someone is angry with us. Instead of being defensive, we can acknowledge their feelings and try to understand their viewpoint. That reaction will probably protect our relationship with them and our own inner peace.
