My Best Disney Autograph Tip

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

One thing I love about where we live is that while we are kind of in the middle of nowhere, we aren't that far from everywhere either. Walt Disney World is just 2 hours away. We love Disney, and as passholders we go several times a year. I love not feeling pressured to do everything in one trip, because we will be back soon enough.

Something we've done along the way is collect autographs from the characters. We are in line right along the kids with their giant pens! One year we were heading to Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner, and wanted to pick up an autograph book since we knew we'd be meeting all the princesses. I wasn't too thrilled with the blank notebooks the gift shop had. Then we saw the perfect thing. A storybook. We decided to buy a classic Disney storybook and have the princesses sign the inside covers. Now we bring that storybook with us when we come to the parks, and add new signatures each time. The book is so much more fun to look through than a blank notebook, and it has turned into the perfect keepsake.
We keep collecting signatures and I know my future kids & nieces/nephews will love reading the fairy tales and seeing their favorite characters' signature!

This hardback storybook cost $15, which is not much more than you'd pay for a blank notebook. So far we have found that the best ways to collect autographs is to do character buffets or getting fastpasses to meet them. Sometimes you can randomly find a short line for one around the park!

By the way, I get totally starstruck in front of these characters! I really like when you have something for them to do, because I feel like a big dweeb standing there smiling at them.

Leave me a comment: How do you collect character signatures? Who is your favorite? How often do you get to go to the happiest place on earth?
