Italy Trip: Venice

Friday, October 23, 2026

We spent a total of 3 days in Venice. What a cool place! It has a Disney feel - the island has no cars, so it's only crowds of people walking and exploring. There are also very few local people, all the workers seem to live on the mainland and drive in for work. Everything is so photogenic!

We loved meandering down all the alleys, and following our noses.

Our Venezia accomplishments:

📍Scala Contarini Del Bovolo (Sweet spiral staircase with great views)
📍Libreria Aqua Alta (A book store where all the books are on boats or up high for floods)
📍Pizza & Caprese for Lunch
📍Doge’s Palace and San Marco Square
📍Gondola Ride with a grumpy Gondolier
📍 Aperol Spritz for Aperitif
📍 Gelato for dessert
📍Endless walking, water taxis, and photo opps

Venice was very cool, and I think 3 days is the right amount. We took a bus from the airport into the city, and then a train down to Rome. The water taxis are fairly easy to figure out, although we did have to ask for help a few times. Walking is the way to go! Remember you will have to carry your bags over bridges so pack light!
