Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent ★★★
This was advertised as an "if you liked The Maid by Nita Prose, you'll like this" and that is entirely false. 😂 The similarities end at the odd ball female main character. Sally Diamond is a recluse that gains a lot of attention when she tries to incinerate her father that had passed away. She has repressed her childhood, and now that she's 'famous' her past comes to the forefront.
This is a weird one! I'd put it in the category of Frieda McFadden with outrageous twists. Some parts were riveting, some parts were just so strange.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen ★★★✸
Stella is a lawyer who is assigned to determine who should get custody of a 9 year old girl. Rose, that child, is not only suffering through her parent's divorce, but also recently witnessed the murder of her nanny. She has stopped speaking all together. Stella had her own traumatic childhood so she's determined to help Rose. But as soon as she steps foot in the Barclay's home, things are way off. Not the least of which, they've removed every single piece of glass - even the windows.
I've really enjoyed all of Sarah Pekkanen and Greer Hendrick's books! This is the first one though, that I didn't just love. Liked, for sure, but didn't love.

PS I Hate You by Lauren Connolly ★★★
Maddie is trying to fulfill her brother's dying wish - to scatter his ashes in a few destinations that he never got to visit himself. But, in his will, her brother also specified that Dom (her brother's best friend) join her in the quest. The problem is Dom and Maddie had a thing years ago, and it ended quite badly. Her brother seems to be matchmaking from the grave!
This was a mix for me - loving and hating it. There are some really great parts, and grief can be so hard to read, but I feel like Lauren Connolly got that right. She also wrote about decent friendship groups, which I think are usually thrown in randomly in romcoms. Maddie is really unlikable though! I don't think I got the sense of humor here either. I dunno. Liked this well enough.

Finding Grace by Loretta Rothschild ★★★
Honor has a great life with her husband Tom and daughter Chloe. But, she's obsessed with having another child, and it's strained her marriage and her relationship with the daughter she does have.
Overall, this book was just okay for me - but I will never forget the SHOCK that is the end of chapter 1. Completely blindsidingly, shocking! ☠ It's such an interesting plot and unique story. But, overall I hated Tom and everything he did.

Finding Grace was my Book of the Month pick! I wrote a whole post called 'Is Book of the Month Worth It?' You can try it out for $5 for a hard cover book and free shipping.

Maine Characters by Hannah Orenstien ★★★

Described as a Parent Trap for adults - Half sisters Lucy and Vivian are forced to spend the summer together at their dad's lake house in Maine after his death. Lots of family drama and complicated histories here. Love the cover - it's got such pretty colors! I was tempted by this one because of the Parent Trap description...eh I don't think that's accurate. The main characters do watch Lindsay Lohan's The Parent Trap in one scene. Unfaithfulness is such a huge plot point in this book, and that is a subject I just hate. Additionally, I had a very hard time keeping the characters straight for most of this book!
