Snapshots from Nashville

Monday, February 28, 2022

What a treat this trip to Nashville was! I rarely do any kind of 'girls' trips, because I really enjoy traveling with my husband. But, when I was invited to join my sister in law and cousin on a girls weekend in Nashville, I jumped at the chance. We all agreed we needed this getaway, and had a BLAST. And, might I add, none of us are big country music fans. I think Nashville would be even more fun if you love the music scene. We loved all the shopping, great restaurants, and some local history. Here's a couple of highlights:

Drybar
We started our trip with a blow out and what a treat this was! I never go to a salon (my sister cuts my hair in her kitchen 😂) so to have someone wash my hair and style it was a joy.

Paddywax Candle Shop
This is the cutest store, but they also do a DIY candle making workshop. You choose your vessel, scent, and pour your own candle. Loved doing this! Plus, what a cool souvenir! Every time I smell my candle I will think of this trip.

Murals and Instagram Spots
There are dozens of murals and Instagram walls in various shops and buildings everywhere in Nashville, so we had fun taking advantage of the photo ops.

Shopping Galore
We felt totally guilt free just meandering through shops and stores throughout Nashville. I treated myself to a few pieces at Draper James, some new sunglasses at Madewell, and a gorgeous necklace at a custom jewelry store. (You can shop what I bought and what I wore in the links at the end of this post)

Belle Meade Winery
This was a great experience! It's a beautiful property with a mansion and tons of history. The tour of the mansion comes with a complimentary wine tasting as well. Our tour guide was EXCELLENT and we all really appreciated her technique of sharing the history of the property but highlighting the life of the enslaved people there in such a respectful way. It was a gorgeous day and it was just a pleasure to walk around.

The Parthenon
Random but there is a full size replica of The Parthenon in Nashville. We unexpectedly loved it. It was very crowded, so we decided not to go inside - but will save that for next time. It was just such a beautiful day and we really enjoyed sitting on the steps and getting some sunshine.

Bartaco
I can't explain it, but I feel like I had life changing tacos here. 😋 It was a fun and delicious experience and we all agreed this was our favorite meal! They had a secret taco that was a tempura avocado taco...I'm still dreaming about it!

Nashville has a lot to offer, and I'm sure 10x more so if you are into the country music scene. We did check out some live music one of the nights we were there, and that was super fun.

Sometimes a vacation can leave you feeling more tired than refreshed, but this was definitely the refreshing kind! I'm obviously happy to be home with my husband and pugs however! Let's chat in the comments below! Have you visited Nashville? What should I put on my itinerary for next time?!
