Weekly Diary #4.2021

Monday, February 8, 2021

Does anyone else feel like January takes so long?! I'm not sure why, but it always seems like the longest month ever. February is one of my favorite months of the year, so maybe that's why it feels that way.

Here's what we've been up to!

Work!

I feel like all I do lately is work. I mentioned that in my last weekly diary, but things haven't changed. I did pick up some blue light blocking glasses and they have helped so much! A goal for this month is to figure out a reasonable way to take a break from screen time. Let me know what has worked for you. Timers on your phone? Hours during the day when you force yourself to disconnect?

Our couch arrived!

We sold our old living room set before we moved last fall. It was time to upgrade and moving was the perfect time to do that. Most furniture is taking weeks to arrive, and our new set was no different. We've been sitting on some old office arm chairs in the meantime. Words cannot describe how happy I am to be able to spread out on our couch!! Seriously, I was going to bed at like 7:30 each night just so I could lay down.

We are obsessed with this set from Article! I'm stumped with what to do with the rest of the room, so be on the look out for a post all about that once I do. The main thing we need to change is our entertainment center/tv console situation.

Weird Florida weather!

Winter is always a strange time here. It can be bitterly cold here one day, and then warm enough for shorts the next! We've had a lot of rain recently, which is fine with me because I love any excuse to wear my Hunter boots! It rained so much in the last few weeks that the retention pond behind our house is completely full. It's just a retention pond, but it actually looks really pretty when it's full of water. We joked we had waterfront property.

Revive order!

I really do try to keep a minimal collection of essential oils because it can get out of hand really quick. I needed to get some more of their Immunity Boost blend to make some of my DIY thieves cleaner so I threw 2 new blends in my order to try. I went with Margarita and Summer of Love. Margarita smells just like it sounds, and I can almost taste the salt when I smell it! Summer of Love unexpectedly smells just like a scene from Soarin' at Disney, so I'm in love. It's citrusy with splash of floral. So fresh!

You can read my Revive Essential Oil Review here. That post also contains a coupon for $10 off!

I also had to get a new diffuser because my big one in the kitchen bit the dust. I don't know what happened, but the buttons stopped working. I grabbed this one from Target and it's great! It looks so cool, I moved it to the living room.

Etsy!

I've had a really successful week on Etsy! I couldn't tell you why, but my orders are way up. Some are super easy, and others are more custom so it's been keeping me busy. I spent some time trying to get my office organized too. Blake complained that I had taken over all three desks in our office, so I had to get it together.

I'm trying to do better with my Etsy Instagram and I'm still sticking with my goal of adding a new design each week. I have some more ideas, I just need to get them finalized and cut. The hardest part is staging a cute picture to advertise with. I'm also struggling with hashtags...trying to think of what a potential customer would search for is challenging.

Colorstreet!

My sister in law sells these fun nail polish strips. I always enjoy having my nails painted (just look on my Etsy page and see that my thumb is painted a different color in each listing, haha!)! These strips are really easy to use and they are an easy way to do fun glitter colors. They have solids as well, but I've mainly enjoyed the glitter colors. Currently wearing 'Moon River'.

Leave a comment below and let me know how your week is going!
