Joshua 18:6
"As for you, map out the land into seven shares, and bring them here to me and I will cast lots"
The division of the Promised Land mentioned at Joshua 18:6 was to be done by casting lots. Casting lots is an ancient custom for deciding a question done by tossing pebbles around like we roll dice. The pebble that fell out was the answer to the question. This was one way that Jehovah communicated with his people back then. Today, the only way He communicates with us is through the Bible. There we can find laws and principles that will answer any question we have about our lives.
