1. Feeling A Bit Off
I started writing a blog post on over a month ago, and the above line was all that I typed. I've been in kind of a weird place - going on two months ago, right before our cruise, Blake and I witnessed someone being hit by a car. It's truly something I can never unsee, and the event often replays in my mind. I'm so happy to say the person is totally fine - but it didn't look/feel/seem like that in the moment. Being with someone in their shock and holding their hand when they think they are as good as dead is something I don't care to do again. We were first on the scene since we were out for a walk in our neighborhood. Anyway, processing what we saw has been really hard and my anxiety was hard to control. Happy to report I'm feeling a lot better though!
2. Half Marathon Training
Officially in training! My sister, two cousins, and I are signed up for a Disney race March 1st. We are doing a 20 week training plan and that started last month. It feels very good getting back into running again, and I'm grateful the weather has cooled down! I bought a running vest and am testing that out. It's a really comfortable vest with room for water and my phone.
3. Savory S'mores
Last month we went to NY state to visit family, and they introduced us to savory s'mores! I cannot get enough. You roast a mini Brie cheese (Trader Joe's has the perfect size) like you would a marshmallow. Then you place your melty cheese on a cracker with toppings like pepperoni, salami, and pepper jelly. SO delicious. We filled up on so many savory s'mores one night that we didn't need to cook dinner.
4. Wantable
I'm enjoying getting Wantable boxes in the mail! I've gotten SO many great pieces of clothing recently. The top photo is a big stack of cute fall sweaters and the best jeans I've put on in a long time! In my last box I got a pair of burgundy wide leg jeans that I probably would have never tried on in a store. They are fabulous and I can't wait to wear them.
5. Scotland Posts Coming!
We just got home from our trip to Scotland. It was amazing, and I'd love to go back! I'm going to write up some posts with what we did in case you want to plan a trip of your own.
