February Goals

Friday, February 1, 2019

Did anyone else feel like January dragged on? My theory is that the weather is making me feel like that. It feels like it's never going to be warm and sunny ever again! I know we have very mild winters, but this one has been so wet! I just miss the sunshine.

January Report
Paint the dining room. Done! This was something that was very overdue. I just felt paralyzed about choosing a color. My options were either match the current color, or pick something different all together. I honestly could not decide. Eventually I made Blake decide for me. Initially he thought we should paint it a new color. Then when I started talking about how that meant we'd need to paint the living room too (Those two rooms are the same color, and if I painted one I really needed to paint the other.), he quickly changed his mind!

We ended up finding a color that looked like a super close match. Once I started painting, it dried identically. I really think we accidentally picked the exact same color! It turned out really well. Refreshing the paint on the trim is what really set the room off. It looks so fresh in there!

Watch batteries. Done! It took me almost all month to get up to the jewelry store to have this done. We live in a small town, and the jewelry store is downtown with zero parking. It's just not a convenient place to get to. I ended up having 7 watches to take in...2 were mine, 5 were Blake's. He actually ended up deciding he wanted to purge his collection and sell what he didn't want anymore. I was proud of him!

No new clothes. Sort of! I planned on not buying any clothes this month, but I did have 2 purchases after all. Let me explain! I've been searching all season for a new jacket. I love my Barbour coat, but I needed something that was 1 step down from that. I do own a field jacket, but it's not lined and it's just not warm enough. I finally found the perfect jacket at LL Bean and it was on sale! It arrived, but was actually too big. That's the trouble with ordering online. Once I get my exchange I will be so happy! It's really exactly what I was looking for.

The second purchase I made was a new pair of boots. I've had mine for 6 years now. I love them so much, but the sole was starting to seperate and the 'leather' is cracking. After searching high and low for the exact pair on Ebay I had no success. I found a pair that I liked a lot online and ordered them. However! I deeply regretted it. I didn't notice until they had shipped, but the back of the boot (which was barely photographed) is hideous!! It's got all of these studs and a red zipper. Not me at all! So they are going back. In the meantime I found a better pair on DSW and hopefully they will suit me. Amazon has me so spoiled with their 2 day shipping- any other website feels like it takes years to get the item!

Consistently get my 10,000 steps. Nope! Haha! I blame it on helping my parents move. They ended up selling their condo and needed to be out in 2 weeks. It was a whirlwind getting them packed up and moved out! I got 17,000 steps every day that week. And then after that I was wiped out. I still feel like I haven't recovered from that! So some days this month I went way over, like our Disney day. But, for the most part I've been around 6,000 steps. I'm hoping that taking it easy at the end of January will make for a more active February.

February Goals
Daily Habits. I've decided to do one goal for the month made up of 4 daily habits. Every day in February I want to complete these habits: Do my daily Bible reading, Take my vitamins, Work Out (includes rest days), and Take off my makeup before bed.

I'd say I was doing pretty good on all 4 of these fronts in 2018. For some reason January was more sporadic. I am going to make it my focus in February to regroup and get back on track! One thing that helps me turn my daily tasks into daily habits is this habit tracker from Erin Condren. It's a cute little notepad that you can write  goals and it has check boxes for each day of the week.

Erin Condren is one of my favorite places for cute office supplies and notebooks! If you don't have an account already, you can sign up for an account with my link here and you'll be sent a $10 gift certificate! This habit tracker notepad is $10, so it'd be free!

Let's Talk! Leave a comment below and tell me what your goal is for the month of February! Did January last forever for you too? Tell me what daily habits you'd like to start or keep up!
